The Scotch 80s

The Scotch 80s is one of the oldest master-planned communities in Las Vegas. This upscale neighborhood is bordered by Charleston to the north, Oakey to the south, Interstate 15 to the east and Rancho to the west.

The Scotch 80s is home to working families and noted celebrities. Mayor Oscar Goodman lives in the neighborhood, and former residents include entertainer Jerry Lewis and casino mogul Steve Wynn.

Most homes in the Scotch 80s were built in the 1950s and 1960s, but the neighborhood's history dates back to 1911, when Peter Buol first bought the 80-acre parcel of land. Buol, was the first mayor of Las Vegas, got some of his financing from Scottish investors. But the "Scotch 80s" remained undeveloped for more than 40 years, when a mini population boom occurred in the growing desert town — a boom that continues today!
